One year on !

It's super scary to think that one year ago I was  home from South Africa  being greeted by my amazing friends and a Chinese in my church before wyldlife  club  !  But here we are !!!

Also today I completed my FINAL Ics placement  survey which I guess officially means I'm done with Ics.
My 10 weeks in South Africa  was one of those experiences that you can really only understand  if you've been there or on a mission trip elsewhere.
The smells,  the sights and the people are hard to describe  to others who wernt  there with you, they can't empathise fully for the people they've never met.

Before South Africa  I was ignorant  to other cultures,  unable to understand  the the affects  of poverty and  stayed inside my comfort zone.
One year on and I've seen the world (part of it) in a whole new light.

South Africa  and the people I met out there has shaped  my life and dertimines  the way I think and do things.

Although I'll never forget my time and experiences in South Africa I have to remember  that time moves on.... new days come and a lot has changed in one year.   I lost my Nanny, drifted away from friends and struggled with self worth and acceptance  but since then.... I've turned 19, Got a job as a Care Assistant and most recently  became a Intern at my church  and best of all, I FOUND MY IDENTITY , ACCEPTANCE AND SECURITY through Jesus !!
(Alot more has happened but that's just the important  stuff )

Each day I get to have new experiences, new challenges with my family and friends...

What else can a gal ask for ? :)

P.s... I still can't construct sentences or find a way to end these posts  !!

It's hard being friends!

39 weeks ago I gave the goodbye speech, if you don't know what the goodbye speech is its...
"Ahh you, I'm gonna miss you lots *hugs* love you so much, have a good time, stay safe and pleaaassseee don't forget me*hug some more*"

Today I gave it again but this time it wasn't me leaving. On Thursday I loose my partner in crime/ the core four becomes the 'thriving three' (other names are available) *private joke hahah*
Our wee Kerry is going to Columbia With her brother Pete to pray for the sick and do mighty things for the Kingdom of God.
They're gonna be awesome and I can't wait to hear all the amazing stories and testimonies that they bring back in three week time ✈️✈️

That leaves the thriving three ( or does it ? )  Bethan will be doing ccssm for two weeks so that leaves the troublesome two.(pretty sure I just came up with that) Hannah... Shall we just take ourselves off somewhere ?

I say it's hard being friends but not because they're horrible people (cos they are pretty fab) but I say it meaning it's hard to find time together during these summer months.
If we arnt on holidays then we are at camp or generally just spending time with our families... Does that mean we arnt friends ? NO IT DOES NOT
It purely means that when we do find a time when all four of us are in the same country then we will have a full agenda of things to talk about over a cup of tea and maybe even some pancakes.

Kerry,Hannah,Bethan.... Wherever the summer may take you.... Enjoy it to the full cos I sure will ;)

*pointless blog but hey ho what can ya do*

Much love ... Courtney xoxo
