It's super scary to think that one year ago I was home from South Africa being greeted by my amazing friends and a Chinese in my church before wyldlife club ! But here we are !!!
Also today I completed my FINAL Ics placement survey which I guess officially means I'm done with Ics.
My 10 weeks in South Africa was one of those experiences that you can really only understand if you've been there or on a mission trip elsewhere.
The smells, the sights and the people are hard to describe to others who wernt there with you, they can't empathise fully for the people they've never met.
Before South Africa I was ignorant to other cultures, unable to understand the the affects of poverty and stayed inside my comfort zone.
One year on and I've seen the world (part of it) in a whole new light.
South Africa and the people I met out there has shaped my life and dertimines the way I think and do things.
Although I'll never forget my time and experiences in South Africa I have to remember that time moves on.... new days come and a lot has changed in one year. I lost my Nanny, drifted away from friends and struggled with self worth and acceptance but since then.... I've turned 19, Got a job as a Care Assistant and most recently became a Intern at my church and best of all, I FOUND MY IDENTITY , ACCEPTANCE AND SECURITY through Jesus !!
(Alot more has happened but that's just the important stuff )
Each day I get to have new experiences, new challenges with my family and friends...
What else can a gal ask for ? :)
P.s... I still can't construct sentences or find a way to end these posts !!
